With the economic forecast filled with nothing but doom and gloom, it's hard to not feel worried and anxious. It seems like job security, whether you are an employee or self employed, is a thing of the past. While many businesses are being forced to cut back, freelancers and contractors should take heart. It's not necessarily a bad thing. We're cheaper than employees since we don't require benefits, office space, or paid time off. And since employers don't need to worry about taxes, that makes us attractive too. So take some comfort in that.

Meanwhile, try to stay motivated and positive. Keep your resume up to date and try and do some marketing tasks everyday. Do what you can to build your savings too, although between bills, holiday shopping, and taxes it can be difficult to do so. Strive to do your best work and keep your clients happy. Most of all, try not to let worry take over. Again, I know it's hard to do but worry and anxiety kill energy and motivation, which are things we all need right now!
